Joey Sweeney began his career as a multi-hyphenate — writer/musician/creative — and has stayed true to that by adding more hyphens over the last two decades. He's been awarded an AAN Award For Music Criticism and was included in DaCapo's Best Music Writing, edited by Jonathan Lethem. In the early aughts, Sweeney founded the groundbreaking Philly-centered commentary site Philebrity.com, which remains the city's longest-running independent cityblog. All the while, he has also continued to make music, gaining accolades from Pitchfork and American Songwriter, just to name a few, as well as continuing to write short stories and essays.
