Joel D’souza, better known as JD, is a man with multiple talents. Originally from Goa JD’s born
and raised in Bombay he started his work as a film maker at the early age of 18 and has since
not only successfully made some of the most iconic Hip-Hop music videos the Indian music
industry has witnessed but is also known for his talents behind the decks as DIVINE’s official DJ.
JD’s wide range of skills allow him to have a thorough understanding of rhythm, beats and how
the audience reacts to music. Apart from his brilliant visuals and on-camera skills he is best
known for his Hip-Hop mashups of Soca, Dancehall and Reggae, and off camera is more than
able to create an environment for a live audience that mixes the most popular tunes with the
most-catchy and dance friendly vibes. In 2016, he had a live appearance on BBC Asian
Network’s Breakfast Show as well and has been DIVINE’s DJ as well supporting him at major
festivals nationally and internationally.
