JIA (嘉) cover image

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Known for her creative energy and daring spirit, Debbie Xu JiaQian was a cornerstone of the Kuala Lumpur house music scene from 2006 to 2014. Under her previous moniker, she was a decorated performer, earning the Choons Award for Best New DJ (08/09) and being named Best Female DJ for three consecutive years (2009–2012).

Her journey included foundational residencies at SkyBar Traders Hotel and Hilton Kuala Lumpur. As part of the OMP Entertainment roster, she appeared at iconic venues including Zouk, Rootz, Sultan Lounge, just to name a few. A high-caliber selector, she has warmed up for house legends Mark Farina and Sonny Fodera, with major performances at Future Music Festival Asia and the Songkran Festival After Party in Bangkok.

After a decade-long hiatus, she returns under a new mantle: JIA (嘉). Reflecting the character’s meaning of “Excellence” and “Joy,” JIA is also a phonetic tribute to the very genre she lives for.

The name has changed.
The excellence remains.
