I'm not a DJ, I just play one on the internetz.
I had a friend whose older brother was a DJ at a local night club, called, "Tyler's". I was 15. This was mid 80's Texas and an under aged kid going in a nightclub was no big deal, so he would take my friend and myself up into the booth while he spun pure musical, new-wavy gold. It was then that I noticed that girls love Dj's . . . and I wanted to be one.
I'm influenced by the likes of DJ Charles Fenech and DJ Kam Shafaati . . . both out of Australia, DJ Elder of Serbia, DJ Led Manville of Spain, DJ Jarnstjarna of Canada (via Iceland), and anyone else who can mix well and knows how to put the right songs together. I, by no means, compare myself to these guys. I merely listen to - and try to learn from - them.
