Amid a music industry climate in which the majority of artists fall into discrete genre parameters that determine their mass appeal, J-E-Z (born John Earl) prefers to concern himself with cultivating a unique sound that itself could spark the next big trend in dance music. A party scene veteran with long-standing ties in L.A., Chicago, Phoenix and Denver (the latter of which he presently and proudly calls home), the dues paid by the introspective artist in no way fall short of providing him with the creative resources necessary for such a feat. Having been influenced by all forms music since as long back as he can remember, J-E-Z cites Boston, The Carpenters, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles and other bands his parents listened to as the groups responsible for shaping the soundscapes of his earliest memories - while groups such as Sublime, Collective Soul and Rage Against the Machine played comparable roles around the time he entered his formative years.
