From coat check attendant to promoting three clubnights a week, Jay Sharp has climbed the ranks of the Fire club organisation higher than most. We caught up with Jay to find out more about the parties...
How did you get into club promotion? I started working in the coat check when Fire was still The Viaduct. After a few years, from meeting Craig at Orange and Beyond I persuaded him to buy the place. The first night that moved from Cafe Rez at the Colosseum to Fire was Later, which was the first party I started promoting – and the rest is history!
Tell me about the three parties you run, Gravity, A:M and Later. What makes them all unique? The music policy, the crowd and the atmosphere. Gravity pulls all sorts of people from all over London who wants the weekend to start early – it’s where the Friday Morning Freaks come out to play! A:M is a unique Saturday morning afterhours party, starting at 3am all the way through to midday and it’s all about the mus
