Born in the 1970’s Jason Staten grew up listening to music in Michigan during the Electronic and Hip-Hop music revolutions. his tastes were nurtured listening to progressive rock, funk, Disco, Jazz, Detroit Techno, House, Hip -Hop, and alternative.
Immediately after high school he was fortunate to meet and work for Techco’s Godfather Juan Atkins who he later reunited with to build deepspaceradio.com.
Jason's 20’s were spent in the street promoting records and Deejaying Parties and college Radio. He was fortunate to be a part of the signing and release of groups like Wu-Tang and to work closely to promoting multiple ground breaking artists & labels priority, select, cold chillin, loud and next plateau - eventually collaborating with MF911 and Ced Gee of Ultra Magnetic.
In 1995 Jason moved to Atlanta and was the first mixers and music coordinator at Hot 97.5.
Over the years Jason has worked with many radio stations and recording studios including Patchwerk Recordings.
