The combination of opposites somehow have always played into Reilly's works. In the early 80's he went from punk/wave chic to vangarding Gothic trend with couture based on the Occult.
"Everything changes" says Reilly of his work, life and beliefs.
In the Nineties he was flying coast to coast as a designer for mass market working with majors and living in rural Minnesota once again with his young family from NYC.
For the past 10 years James has focused on one of a kind pieces and small editions. His work pulls up the past with the future, mixing in cultures, real (or imagined) and what might be found within that contrast.
