You’d be hard pressed to find a member of the San Antonio scene who champions house and techno like Jake Cavazos does. The DJ, producer, promoter and founder of the People Under the Bus (PUB) record label and event brand stays more up-to-date on electronic music’s sophisticated side than nearly anyone else in the local scene.
By 2008 Cavazos found himself effectively steeped in the rhythms of the underground, and teamed up with fellow San Antonio promoter Unseen to book out-of-towners for a four-installment event series at Club Metro. In 2011 he founded Draft Records alongside Roberto Apodaca and Djafar, and in recent years he’s honed his studio craft while performing primarily at private parties that coincide with People Under the Bus’ monthly broadcast series. DJ/producers like Mall Grab, DJ Seinfeld, and Quasar exert the strongest influence on his creative process of late.
