Soaking up the sounds of the UK’s underground free party scene as a teen, Hywel’s enthusiasm for collecting records kicked off with jungle and early dubstep. These influences are still clearly recognisable in his recent sets, along with an assortment of genres that Hywel has developed a keen interest in since. Breaks, acid, ambient, trance - his selections know no boundaries.

His move to Bristol in 2010 marked Hywel’s transition from collector to the club. Holding a residency at Motion, he gained international recognition supporting the likes of Groove Armada and Pete Tong. It was these experiences that led Hywel to start his own club night, Eminent.
