Gax (aka Stephen Gakneras) is a Los Angeles based Dj that has been a passionate music lover throughout his life and is now bringing his love to the electronic music dance floors. His style of jackin house, which includes a funky mixture of soulful, tech and jazzy elements goes down smooth like your morning coffee and keeps your feet moving all night long. Gax has been a dedicated musician since age 9. His repertoire includes four instruments essential to house music: violin, guitar, drums and trumpet. Gax was first exposed to electronic music in 1998 through friends that introduced him to trance mega-stars like Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Tiesto.
In 2004 Gax attended his first electronic music event , Insomniac’s Nocturnal festival, and in 2005 after watching DJ Dan at that same festival his life and musical tastes took a drastic turn. Experiencing Dj Dan’s funky house style inspired Gax to pursue house music, and become a dj.
