I started DJ in the early 90's. I got into it somewhat by accident. I was volunteering for a middle school dance program and the coordinator either couldn't find a DJ for forgot to hire one. I knew where I could get my hands on some gear and the school had budget for some music, so I jumped in.

I'd seen other DJs in the past and always wanted to get involved, so I took it as a moment of opportunity. My friend and I hobbled the gear together and somehow pulled it off. The sound was terrible, the music did not transition well, I had a lot to learn, but I caught the DJ bug that night and never looked back.

Since then, I've been through every iteration of DJ gear and media. From vinyl and turntables to dual deck CD players to DJ controllers and MP3s.

Today I run a small DJ company that does about 200 events a year. In 2010 I took the leap from the corporate world to run my business full time. Now I'm training other DJs to perform and make money doing what they love.
