“It’s good to be back in rock ‘n’ roll,” says Erik Walet, one of Holland’s most underrated and humble musical talents. “Starting all over again and again, to have that feeling of an absolute beginner, where it’s still the first and deepest cut that counts.” Back in the 80s, the bleached-blonde Dutchman, who embodies the rock ‘n’ roll spirit like no other, was the vocalist of the Amsterdam-based garage rock band The Songbirds. Living in Amsterdam and Copenhagen, Walet founded several musical projects over the years, such as JoJo Dildo and Wallet & Laughter (produced by Urban Dance Squad DJ DNA), amongst others. In Denmark, Walet had a longtime collaboration with classical composer Mads Nordheim. They worked as songwriters for the late Dutch musician and artist Herman Brood and German punk icon Nina Hagen.
