I was exposed to DJing by helping to carry equipment into the Brass Monkey, NYC so as to get in free to the club. Back then, DJ's just needed equipment providing what was called "continuous music". Thinking that was cool, got me some equipment and records. Just like that I was a DJ doing parties. Practicing one day, I put the needle on the record, Always There by Side Effect and the beats were close. I thought, "Wow, that's cool". After about an hour of messing around, I was beat mixing at will. I called my DJ partner in to listen. I remember him smiling at me, said that was nice and left. Don't remember the year but it was the summer, First Choice's Dr Love came out. And, I went solo. Started playing at real clubs. Always, striving to do more with the music. I believed a DJ is a musician and the equipment the instruments. Still do. I loved to dance and I'd play as if I was on the dance floor. Not dancing to my favorite song but the music. So enjoy the music I make and just dance.
