Dr Poindexter aka Will Pointer was born and raised in Norwich, UK. His appreciation for music was enhanced when he went to university in 2002 to Brighton – a place rich in history with artists and genres. His existing love of Hip Hop brought him close to friends already DJing and this influence led him to spend his first student loan installment on a pair of old secondhand Soundlab turntables and a very old and worn Gemini mixer with an almost stationary crossfader. His early appeal was instantly scratching, observing and learning from others around him he started to pick it up and spent most of the money he had on vinyl.
His natural set still has roots in Hip Hop but also has evolved over time into Funk, Ghetto Funk, Soul, Motown, Disco, Electro Swing & Dance Hall. His love of scratching has never wavered and is normally a feature in his sets.
