I am a Freelance Music Journalist and Consultant, committed to preserving and documenting Africa's broad and diverse music. I come from a long line of musicians, including a music teacher in the 1820's in England. My father is a jazz musician, as a child I was trained in both classical and jazz piano. At New School University, I was the Research Assistant for a course taught on women and blues music. I currently contribute to www.worldmusic.about.com.
