Music has always been a part of my life. I find inspiration and solace in listening to a wide range of sounds but reggae music has always captivated me. Who does not love the one drop sounds of The Wailers. Yes the Marley sound is always at the foundation but the world of reggae is vast - correction: universe - my favourites have always been the "3 vocalist" groups - Wailers, Diamonds, Burning Spear, Culture etc. The music was about the sound and the message. Appreciation for dub and electronic sounds came later and it is encouraging to note that the world of reggae has grown to what it is today - truly universal, loved and produced in just about every country in the world (some unexpected). People's music! Selecting music for my mixes is a journey into sound each week - playing mostly conscious one drop sounds and dub.
