Who is DJ Wiebe
Music and performing is in my blood. I started on drums. By age 11 I was voted “Best Young Drummer of the Netherlands” after a show at the Jazz and Sail Festival. Yes!
Understanding beats and tempos came naturally to me. So when I started playing records at parties the feedback was instantaneous, flattering and addictive. I knew that mixing music is what I wanted to do.
I got my first regular gig at a club named (what else?) “De Club” in my hometown of Bergen aan Zee. I was 14 years old. Sure, I went to school (I studied art and nursing) but music became the pulse of my free time, what defined me, moved me, and made me happy. I absorbed anything and everything that is melodic, beautiful, danceable, emotional, singable, powerful; R&B, soul, disco, rock, jazz, house, lounge, hip hop, electro, techno – I devoured it all, and played it for the crowd. And they wanted more. Combining All these different styles is what I do best nowadays.
