Vlad Cheis started to have his interest in electronic music back in early 90s. At this time he was fond of popular and beloved techno and synthy pop groups, later in 1994 switching to happy hardcore and jungle music compilations. In 1996 Vladimir’s interest got more serious as he attended first Hardcore, Techno, Jungle and Drum’n’Bass raves. A little later Vlad realized he wanted to become a DJ and started working towards his goal. Back then he acted as dance parties and cultural events promoter, playing mostly vinyl records. His first record was 98 hardcore label Mokum Records.
In 2005-2008 Vlad continued his promoter activity at various Moscow venues, combining it with art-director and residential jobs. In 2008 he did a series of “Dubwise sessions” club events, in parallel releasing a DNB/Ragga collab with DJ Sokolov - Elec Storm & Vlad Cheis – GunJah, Big Dabass Recordings [BDR001].
