RIP DJ Ultraman. 09/25/76 - 07/20/22 Hailing from Los Angeles, DJ Ultraman first got involved with hip-hop culture as a high school DJ in Cerritos, CA. Originally influenced by the conscious hip-hop era and members of the crews Fascination, Legend, the Beat Junkies and Empire DJs, he has since been involved in record/event promo, college radio and TV, and sharing the stage with acts like OutKast, Jurassic 5, Ice Cube, Far East Movement, Native Guns, and Dumbfoundead. He represents the Cerritos All-Stars and DP Sound crew, and has been active in Icon Events, Legend, 21XL, mETHODOLOGY, and the eventsco. Aside from DJing, he has traveled throughout the US and Asia-Pacific Rim to speak/teach about hip-hop, education, and community activism. He has been involved in numerous urban grassroots organizations, and earned his Ph.D. in Urban Education (UCLA).
