DJ Tell It, better known as "Ya Auntie's Favorite DJ", started his journey in December 2020. Originally, Tell It was performing on stage as a spoken word artist under the stage name, JB The Poet. Quickly making a name for himself in the Richmond open mic scene sparked a new passion for him in the form of DJing. He learned the basics from his friend and mentor, Jamil Jasey, whom he had met at a poetry event earlier that year.

Starting out, Tell It always talks about his "humble beginnings", referring to him only having one speaker, an old laptop that was not really the best for DJing, and a shoebox that he would set his controller on. From there, he continued grinding and eventually became the In-House DJ for three open mic shows in Richmond, Melodic Mondays, Open All That Soul, & Thursday Night Live from January to August of 2021. He now resides in his hometown of Chesapeake, VA and still takes the music scene by storm.
