I started DJing in the South of France (Avignon) at the beginning of the great rave party era in May 1992. From 1998 to 2012, I was playing a couple of times a year but DJing was always in the background in my life. For my 40th birthday in 2012, I asked for a new pair of decks and decided to go for it in Jersey as DJ Stefunk. I started DJing with Psytrance and integrated Techno/Hard Techno then Jungle/Drum and Bass to finish with House/Hard House. But the syncopated rhythms of Funk, the warmth of Soul, the energy of African music, the freedom of Jazz, the pulsation of Brazilian Samba, the intensity of Latin music, the fun, pumping effect of Hip-Hop/Trip-Hop/Breaks, the relaxed sound of Reggae and so on, have always been at the heart of my musical universe. My passion as a DJ is to get people irresistibly attracted to the dancefloor but also to offer them a proper journey from style to style, raising the BPM progressively (from 80 to 180) while having the groove as my main focus.
