For years Smirker has been playing all forms & variations of the original '92 "Old skool" hardcore sound, his vinyl collection is the envy of many. With Old skool sets full of classic anthems, & more obscure tracks that still keep the party rocking, whether it be the '92 or 96 Happy styles, thru to present day. Since 2003, he has been also into the breakbeat genre, and since 2005 has been one of Finland's major exponent of the new Rave breaks/Nu Rave/Nu skool sound, a return to the 140 bpm piano-lead sound from 92, but brought bang up to date by the return of Old Skool Heroes and a new breed of producers.
Having played alongside the likes of UK DJ Slipmatt, 1 half of legendary producers SL2, and UK Happy Hardcore DJ Stompy, he has learned from the best, and follows in the time honored philosophy of playing to the crowd, letting their energy lead the direction of not only the each track, but the whole set.
