Slim's interest in music began at a young age by listening religiously to Magic 105.7 in Cleveland. The Day the Music Died particularly touched his emotions with the strange events leading up to the crash and the tragic death of his favorite musician Buddy Holly. From there, Slim transitioned to The Ramones and their style of punk rock: hard, fast, and short songs. In the nineties Slim gravitated towards mostly hip-hop and electronic music such as KRS-One, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, and Portishead. His interest in djing came from hearing people like Bad Boy Bill, Doc Martin, Josh Wink, John Aquaviva, Kenny Glasgow and many others who came thru the Midwest to play raves. Since purchasing his first set of decks in 1998, Slim developed his style from living in the Midwest, Miami, Chicago, and Vermont with frequent trips to Montreal. He now resides in Ohio and his style is described as jacky, deep, and funky house, techhouse, and techno.
