DJ Rkatekt grew up listening to classic rock and was later exposed to reggae and lounge for his first years of living in Los Angeles. In Hollywood, he uncovered a world a new music through vinyl outlets and a growing scene in electronic music. His neighbors having 2 Technics 1200’s, eventually found himself in the mix. He started collecting classic house labels such as Naked Music and Om Records and eventually opened up to Subliminal, Defected, and the early days of Hed Kandi. Now his favorite labels include Wall, Lektroluv, PIAS, Size, and Toolroom Records, to keep a shortlist.
His love for DJ'ing continued when he moved to Belgium, where he found a whole new world of music within an ever influential scene. He quickly grew to love Soulwax, The Subs, Dr. Lektroluv, to name a few Belgian favorites. He became notorious for his carefully crafted intros, and his high energy sets. He now infuses dubstep and drum n’ bass, with house and progressive sounds.
