I started djing in the mid 90s at rave parties playing in what was called the 'ambient room' which was a separate room from the main dance floor. Often called the 'chillout room' this space offered a change of gears from the intensity of the latest techno, house or drum and bass one would hear on a larger sound system. Although I didn't play much true ambient ie no beats, I did nonetheless start out playing what would later be referred to as downtempo or the darling tag from the 90s; trip-hop.

In the late 90s and early 2000s I played uptempo techno and house and in that period played at clubs and parties. In the mid 2000s I returned to my roots as a chillout dj and started to make more eclectic mixes. This change represented my exit from 12 years in the rave scene.
