Calvin L. Stuart was born and raised in Washington DC, in the heart of Adams Morgan. So happy to be a Dad, he adopted his DJ name from his first born son who is named Ka'Von.

Very deeply keen on the Hip-Hop culture, he was a Breakdancer and Graffiti artist which flowed into DJ'ing. When DJ Kavon was learning to DJ, he emulated other dj's scratches and blends then tried his own. He was always going to the Cap Center to See Public Enemy, Whodini, Doug E Fresh, and Run DMC and study how Terminator X, Grandmaster D, Chill Will & Barry Bee, and Jam Master Jay would rock the turntables.

He helped start a group called Concrete Jungle in 1990. A promoter saw them perform at a club and asked them to be the opening act for Mint Condition, at Ft Stewart military base, Hinesville GA. They also opened for Mary J Blige, Tupac, Chubb Rock, Rare Essence, Redhead Kingpin, Bubba (formerly of Today), Ex-Girlfriend, Coolio, Mc Breed, Angie B(formerly of 357),and 2 Hype Brothers and a Dog.
