Brooklyn, United States
My parents listened to lots of different types of music like Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, Salsa, Son, Tango, Jazz, etc. It really gave me an appreciation for music from around the world.
I started DJ’ing when I saw a video for Gangstarr. DJ Premier was scratching and transforming and I thought it was magic.
My goal as a DJ is to do a couple of good parties a year. I don’t aim to be rich or famous. Just getting props on music is enough to keep me doing it.
My early influences were people from my hometown like Vinroc, Ed Swift, First Klass, Develop as well as NY DJs like Kid Capri, and Ron-G.
I’ve spun a lot of really famous and iconic NY venues before they closed like Sound Factory, The Roxy, Speed, EXIT, LimeLight, and etc. Basically I would get booked to DJ venues before I was even old enough to drive.
I currently have no residencies. I tend to get bored of DJ’ing the same places over and over and rather just do gigs here and there.
