Alfonso Gonzalez a.k.a. DJ Hernia, is a multifaceted vinyl artist. His musical inspirations started from salsa and Latin roots and mixed with hip hop, funk to reggae generating a unique experimental melody with a Latin flavor in 4/4.
Considered one of the pioneers of the Venezuelan Hip Hop scene, he began his artistic career as a DJ in '96 with important groups and in clubs in his hometown, Caracas. As a DJ he was part of underground groups of hip hop culture such as: 187, Vzla Subterranea, Vagos y Maleantes, 3 Dueños among others and also collaborated with experimental groups such as Bacalao Men, Papa Shanty Sound System.
In his career he organized solo projects such as: Comba Digital, H Ache Crew and Apollo Sound Machine.
He participated in shows by countless international and national artists such as: Manu Chao, Orishas, Mala Rodriguez, Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, Sexteto Juventud, 5ta Galaxia, Dimension Latina, Gustavo Cerati, Chucho Valdez and many others.
