Born in Tokyo and grew up in the U.K. where the love for electronic music was first harvested. But It was a sudden move to China in 1996 that sparked his unintentional career. With the lack of any club scene, it spurred him to start a series of unpretentious house parties in make shift venues that quickly gained him the attention of the first generation of young Chinese clubbers.
From a series of seminal events to holding residencies and guest spots in all the key clubs in Beijing and Shanghai he further cemented his reputation for being the first promoter to invite top international DJ’s to Mainland China, such as: Laurent Garnier, Derrick May and club brands such as Renaissance to name a few.
Amongst his peers he is widely regarded as an instrumental force for creating mainstream clubbing culture in Mainland China. After a phenomenal 6 years in China as a Dj and promoter, Daiya has since spread his influence to both Bangkok and Hanoi where he is currently based.
