DJ Azúcar “officially” started as a club DJ in 1999 playing Latin music in Huntsville, AL.
DJ Azúcar has a natural affinity for Latin music and its diverse rhythms, as well as House music with lots of percussion and African and Caribbean influence. His sets also include music from the 70′s/80′s, House, Techno and their derivatives. DJ Azúcar is a proud member of the Astoria/NYC DJ Group (ADG) and has spun with ADG at various spots around New York City such as Astoria Brewhouse, Hachi Asian Bistro, Hell's Gate Social, L.I.C. Bar, Katra Lounge, Moomia Lounge, Nana Restaurant & Bar, Porch Bar & Lounge, RSVP Lounge, and Vikings Dungeon.
DJ Azúcar is currently living in the Chicago area and has played at Drink, Drop Lounge, Exit, Gallery Bar, Hostel Earphoria, NV Lounge, Parlour on Clark, Spybar, Stereo Nightclub, The Roots Room, Zero Degrees, Slammin' Saturdays (online), House of Sol festival (2015-17), Fiesta Boricua, Soulgasm-Hawaii (3/16), My Bar (Kona, HI), Brunch-Ski and WNUR 89.3 FM.
