Seemingly a natural since his early teens, ALTAY’s enthusiasm for music has always been off the charts. Growing up with a musical family opened him up to all types of music, from classical to dance. Before becoming a DJ, his younger years were filled with making hip hop and afrobeat music for friends at the university with FL Studio. After years of making beats and mixtapes, often for an audience of one, he grew frustrated with the constraints of his skill set and began to learn the craft of DJing. Once he was exposed to the club and rave scenes, he couldn't get enough of the beats; he was hooked immediately to the vibe, the crowd, the atmosphere, and the pure thrill of controlling the sound. ALTAY draws heavily on western and Nigerian influences and puts creativity, individuality, and a sense of rebellion at the core of his style.
