DJ Akasha is the project of Akash Sandhu who is based in New Zealand. She comes from a family of music enthusiasts, passionate singers and a deeply rooted Punjabi culture that loves to celebrate festivities with dancing parties. She began listening and downloading electronic music since she was 12 (influenced by her brother) and was addicted instantly. It was only natural for Akasha to head into a new direction of music which she was already searching for.
A proud member of Phat Productions and Higher Recordings, her style brings energetic dark groovy melodies with elemental feels of deep and futuristic psychedelic sounds. Akasha looks for particular sound waves and beats which she grew up listening to and with that chooses her tracks carefully adding a personal reminiscing touch for herself and to her sets, giving her the opportunity to share her vibe with the world.
