Tasogare is the time between day and night - a feeling I try to replicate in my music. Also as Steve Blag, tasogare started DJing in his hometown of Hong Kong, before heading over to the UK to study. It was in Exeter that he became a regular backroom staple at the Lemon Grove, home to legends before him, such as Matthew Herbert and Thom Yorke, as well as various parties and occasional appearances at the Cavern Club and Timepiece.
In the middle of that era, he spent a year in Heidelberg, Germany, where he didn't see much daylight, owing to some pretty giant warehouse parties in Ludwigshafen and Mannheim.
It was in Nottingham where things really started to take shape. Tasogare befriended a crew spanning out from Funky Monkey records, and DiY soundsystem. His appearances there were weekly, involving stints at the Bomb, Beatroot and others, mainly for the Spectrum nights.
