DJ Chia is a performance artist with many talents, a musical "jack of all trades." Born and raised in New Jersey, their music is rooted in the sonic tapestry of NYC/NJ- woven from threads of jazz, disco, soul, hiphop, garage, house, dub, reggae, jungle, techno, and rock. Their studies in ethnomusicology and electroacoustic music composition at Dartmouth College from 1994-1998 sparked a passion for learning that continues to bring new influences, genres, and sounds into their repertoire as a working performance artist based in Vermont.

Since 1994, Chia has been producing underground dance music and playing parties at clubs, bars, afterhours, and other private events. With 30+ years of experience, they have performed for crowds in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Their remixes have featured underground legends such as Alan T., Octavia St. Laurent, and Bjork, amongst others. Chia has released music on Slanted Black Records (USA) and Episode Records (Amsterdam).
