Girlschool are a British ROCK /HARD ROCK Band originating out of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene ( NWOBHM ) and frequently associated with contemporaries Motörhead. They are the longest running all-female rock band, still active after more than 30 years.

Formed from a school band called Painted Lady by McAuliffe and Williams

they then recruted Kelly Johnson and Denise Dufort and changed their name to Girlschool in 1978.

Girlschool enjoyed commercial success in the early 1980s, they have maintained a worldwide cult following and were inspirational for many a female band despite frequent changes to their lineup.

Original members Kim McAuliffe and Denise Dufort are still in the band to this day.
