Chicooligan started off as a record label and DJ collective in 2003 founded by David Ireland (BPM Magazine) and Jean-Christophe Chamboredon (Milan Records). The label released critically acclaimed LP's by artists like 4Hero and The Astor Piazzolla Remix Project along with a series of singles (on vinyl).

The label eventually shut down in 2008 and was more or less dormant until now. David Ireland has launched a new podcast series as Chicooligan for MagneticMag.com. The show is weekly-ish, and focuses on the downtempo and deep house genre.

Because not all electronic music is made for dancing!
