First got into music listening to early hip and electro and house music. Then decided to get a set of decks and a mixer, not an easy task. I had one direct drive turntable (it was a Technics, but not a 1200 or 1210, had to wait a while longer for the 1210s) and the other deck was a belt drive deck, which came to me in kit form, so with a bit of soldering and a little help from my dad, I had 2 decks and a trip to Tandy’s to get a realistic mixer! And I was ready to go
Been collecting records for almost 40 years (hey, who’s counting anyway?!) you can never have enough!
Played at various venues and put on parties for many years. The first was called The Dope Jam (’87). We rented a local hall and hired a sound system and a few lights a load of teenagers, some strong cheap lager and cider what could possibly go wrong! …
