BIO: BYRON LOVE
Born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. Byron started out on the local Pietermaritzburg pub circuit just after leaving school and completing a compulsory 2 year “National Service” stint in the SA Army, having had a band at school. (His band split up due to band members having to go to the Army). He gigged at the Polo Tavern, Ansonia Hotel, Eldorado Ladies Bar, Spur Restaurants, Capital Towers Hotel and other pubs in the Pietermaritzburg area.
He ventured down to Durban and started playing at The Cockney Rebel at the Beach Hotel, and did various gigs at Rovers Old Boys Club and other clubs around Durban. This lead to a gig at Hickory’s in Ballito, when it was still a tiny village.
Margate and the South Coast was next, as he played at The Yard O Ale, Margate Hotel, Faerie Glen Hotel, Wild Coast Sun and other venues on the South Coast.
He was invited to enter the Battle of the Pub Muso’s at Hops in Ballito, and since then has been pro on the No
