1984 - Barrie Sharpe created clothing company "Duffer of St. George". & dj'ed at London's exclusive Wag Club, with Lascelles Lascelle.

1985 - He opened "The Cat In The Hat Club" in Central London; alongside Lascelle he played predominately 70's funk music, which later became known as "Rare Groove", a big influence on the ever changing London Club culture. The entire "Rare Groove" scene was started @ The "Cat In The Hat" by Lascelles Lascelle and Barrie Sharpe, anyone else staking claim to this achievement aint quite telling the truth.
