As a kid growing up in MN in the mid 80's, I was first exposed to breakbeats watching my cousin compete in break circles. In the beginning of the nineties I was a teenager living in FL and was totally entranced with the Florida style "Breaks" I was hearing in clubs and on the radio. That was where I began a lifelong passion for "techno". Around '96-97 I was back in New England. I started to go out in search of this sound and found the Empire Theater in Manchester, NH. Shortly after, I got my first set of turntables and began playing out a year or so later. I had found my people and the sound I love in the 90's "rave" scene.
Now the technology may change over time, but there is nothing like blending tracks, tweaking knobs and effects,sampling, scratching, and now even producing "edm". Hopefully I will be doing it the rest of my life!
