Back in June, the very best in music, business and technology gathered for SXSW London, the UK’s answer to the popular USA-based creative extravaganza.

Across one week, attendees were treated to conferences, festivals and live music acts that spanned the trending topics affecting the world today.

One such ongoing debate is the presence of AI and its relationship with music. At SXSW London, Mixcloud’s Co-Founder and CEO Nico Perez joined music economist Will Page for a discussion about the current state of AI and the role it plays in musical algorithms.

As well as outlining Mixcloud’s beginnings and overall mission, Perez and Page trace the need for human connections in these changing technological times, the presence of recommendation algorithms and more.
