BLACKAPALOOZA < Black-A-Palooza > is the multi-act, touring music festival package that featured primarily alternative Black music and related arts, crafts and culture patterned after the seventies “MOTOWN REVUE” and the successful alternative music festival, "Lollapalooza". BLACKAPALOOZA began as an idea in 1993 among several groups of musicians, managers, fans, and supporters in Detroit, Chicago, New York City, Newark, NJ and Washington, DC.
