Minor Imperial Outpost
In about 1998 I began experimenting with composition on an MC-505 and a PC, using samples collected on portable DAT and minidisc recorders.
Between about 2002 and 2016 I recorded thousands of hours of broadcast media while noting the timecodes of words, phrases and associated inflections.
I regained access to my timecode notes and my storage devices and media in 2021, and returned to experimenting with arranging and layering audio files.
The 'miscellaneous v section' upload in 2022 applied that technique to samples obtained up until about the most recently publicized invasion of Iraq in 2003.
I am now learning to compose and produce on a DAW, and the mixes uploaded here since 2020 often help me recall sounds and arrangements and other long-ago recorded samples that are linked through prior use and experimentation with some of the samples and tracks used in the mixes.
