Awamu means ‘together’ in L’uganda the main language spoken in the slums Kampala, Uganda. We chose it as it reflects the spirit of the networks of energetic women they work with there.
We work together to ensure the most vulnerable children in their community get the education and skills that are vital to their future.
Our social enterprise Awamu is in the process of becoming a fully-fledged charity (The Awamu Foundation) and to celebrate we are throwing a party...Together 2016.
Like Awamu, our party is completely driven by the generosity of volunteers and performers and reflects our core belief that working together we can create something wonderful.
