We present to you: microfunk
Minimal drum&bass (a.k.a microfunk, autonomic, half-step dnb) is subgenre of dnb that purifies and stripes the sound as much as possible without totally halting the initial sound of the style. The apellation 'autonomic' comes from the original inventors of microfunk: Dbridge [future forces; bad company;] and instra:mental [alex green & damon kirkham duo] who launched eponymous podcast series, label and nightclub in 2009.
Despite the sound minimilization and reduction, autonomic is, to our minds, the most profound and sophisticated contemporary drum&bass genre. More, the whole concept of microfunk is build on the idea of origination of highly expressive emotions through the sounds. The best display for this property of minimal dnb is the term 'cinemascopic'.
