Since the early 1980s, ashorii has been digging deep into music, working as a DJ, artist, producer and composer who's had great influence on the Canadian club scene. With his projects such as Babylon Martini & Musique Boutique, Coup Digital, Derooted & Replant Records, ashorii has managed to create a well-respected platform for innovative ideas and grooves that have inspired dance floors throughout the country.

ashorii began his remarkable DJ career in the 80's. Making his first appearance as a DJ at age 15, spinning the wheels of steel at various Mod Events in his hometown Toronto. "I remember hunting down old northern soul records by corresponding via snail mail with other dj pin pals in Europe", says Amir. "That was something very unusual at that time. Northern Soul and Rare Groove were so underground in North America that it was practically non existent."

ashorii's style today is a blend of tech-house with deep grooves that make your booty shake and your mind fizzle.
