Artists & Repertoire is a music & talk show looking at music history, political economy & criticism, one record label (or scene / collective / microgenre) at a time. It's hosted by Toren Hardee ( aka @djdadsalad ) and it airs Sundays at 10pm on WHIV-LP 102.3 FM in New Orleans, and lives on as a podcast here on Mixcloud. "A-side" episodes feature more talk; "B-side" episodes, more music.

Record labels provide an underutilized lens through which to examine music's social, historical & aesthetic context, as well as the modes of production, economic arrangements & power dynamics that produced & distributed it. Above all, A&R carves out space for deep music appreciation, speaking in a more personal tone than most contemporary music criticism and honoring the central role that music plays in our lives.
