He is a bass guitarist but he also loves to play the keyboard and guitar. His style is not a classic form of dub. Born and raised in Belgium, his youth wasn't a bed-of-roses.
His artistic journey began at 19 when his older brother Lowie bought him his first bass guitar in 1994. Membership in various bands followed. During these years, he honed his skills as a bass player and a musician – working alongside Timmy Mbonu (Nigeria), a long-standing collaborator with the late Nigerian artistic pioneer Fela Kuti.
He is the sum of a life rich in its cultural tapestry, yet also tinged by profound darkness and sadness. Along the way, Arky Starch was the founder of Dread Invasion, and also collaborated with Calvin Ward, Heartwash, Sun Flower Crackers, Ion Youth, P.UY., L.D.A., and Yosa (Dub Tales) to name a few.
