I’m MaxMal, living for the places where sound, sweat, and community collide. Birmingham’s House of God shaped me, a pressure cooker with no filters and no bullshit. Big love to Chris and Dido for letting me go deep, weird, and heavy. Before that, I was on pirate radio,Mix FM, Kool FM,broadcasting from dodgy tower blocks with one ear tuned for sirens. I played across the board, leftfield electronic, hip hop, early garage, techno, deep house. Genre never mattered; honesty did. Seeing Surgeon on a tiny controller flipped a switch. I dove into digital early, built a custom Franken-rig, and pushed my craft before many dj's knew or cared about dj controllers. I helped build parties like Floatation, Melange and many more. Floatation holds a special place for me, an afterhours home for misfits and the LGBTQ crowd who wanted something daring, not recycled pop. People asked, “What is this music?” that said it all..
